Lynn E. Hazen completed her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College, where she won the Houghton Mifflin Award for SHIFTY, her YA novel-in-progress. She also has an M.A. in Education, and a B.S. in Applied Behavioral Sciences. Lynn's first middle grade novel, MERMAID MARY MARGARET, was called "a winner" by Kirkus Reviews. Her second children's book is a picture book. BUZZ BUMBLE TO THE RESCUE is now available. Both are published by Bloomsbury.
Lynn lives with her family in Northern California where she enjoys gardening, hiking, collecting beach glass, and splashing around in the water. Inspiration often comes from her own kids as well as the exuberant children she encounters in her job as a preschool director.
